As a natural progression from our highly successful conferences in 2004 and 2006, our Third International Conference was sub-themed Benefiting from Innovation and continued with the overarching theme of Clients Driving Innovation. This Conference demonstrated how applied research is making a difference in delivering social, environmental and economic benefits to property, design, construction and facility management firms, the industry and the community. Our Third International Conference was attended by over 200 delegates representing Australia, the United Kingdom, United States of America, The Netherlands, Sweden, France, Finland, New Zealand, South Africa and Hong Kong. Over 75 individuals representing seven countries delivered presentations across a wide range of topic areas, including sustainable construction, industry development, procurement and risk management, facilities management, information and communication technologies, meeting client needs and occupational health and safety. The Conference was held at the Surfers Paradise Marriott Resort - a beautiful five star Resort which combines casual Queensland charm with superior international style. Situated in the heart of the Gold Coast, the Resort is just a short stroll from the famous beaches, shopping and nightlife of Surfers Paradise. The Marriott's unique facilities, ideal location and award-winning service made this the perfect venue for this important gathering.
